Abstract
This study investigates the influence of geography and socio-cultural
aspects on traditional villages in the Taihu Lake region. It examines
how topography, water resources, and climate conditions affect village
development, architecture, infrastructure, and agricultural practices.
The research also explores the socio-cultural characteristics including
religious beliefs, clan culture, and commercial activities that shape
community dynamics. The findings highlight the adaptive strategies
employed by villages to manage water resources, cope with environmental
challenges, and maintain strong community relationships. This study
emphasizes the importance of understanding the interplay between
geography and socio-cultural factors in preserving and revitalizing
traditional villages for sustainable development.
