Expression Patterns of WRKY20 and CsLecRK6.1 gene
in root collars
Similar to that observed in leaves, transcript levels ofCsLecRK6.1 were significantly elevated in root collars of Ramezz
and Baby at 24 hpi and thereafter (Fig3.a). While, CsLecRK6.1transcript levels were significantly lower in the root collars of Mini
6-23 and Extrem relative to Ramezz and Baby. So, the resistant Ramezz
showed the strongest, over nine-fold enhancement of CsLecRK6.1transcription at 72 hpi compared with the control (Fig3.a). There was
significant positive correlation between relative CsLecRK6.1expression level in leaves and root collars (r = 0.85**). The gene,CsWRKY20 , had increased expression levels until 48 hpi in Ramezz
and Baby, decreasing thereafter at 72 hpi. In contrast, high susceptible
genotypes showed no significant difference in gene expression (Fig3.b).
Also, significant positive correlations were recorded for relativeCsWRKY20 expression level in leaves and root collars (r =
0.98**).
