My main field of study is developing spectroscopic methods that detect different tissue pathologies non-destructively and in real-time using light-tissue interaction. For this purpose, some studies have used a single optical fiber probe to diagnose cancerous tissues, and many organs have been studied. We developed and started to use a method to measure tissue oxygen saturation and determine tissue ischemia. We developed a breast optical tomography system and determined whether the masses in the breast were tumors or cysts and hamartomas in a pilot clinical study.
With the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, we worked on thermally inactivating airborne SARS-CoV-2. We developed a device that can be used both for heating and inactivating airborne pathogens in winter.
