As the COVID-19 pandemic scare fades in early 2022, governments
throughout the world are now battling a fear of monkeypox outbreaks in
various regions. The human monkeypox virus is a double-strand DNA virus
that was first discovered in Africa. The 2022 monkeypox virus can spread
from person to person and through infected animals. Nevertheless, the
host or carrier for the same has not yet been cleared. The relatively
low transmission rate has barred it from attracting attention on a
global scale. However, as cases increase, the 2022 monkeypox virus
creates a panic. Around 103 countries were affected due to this virus
till September 2022. There is currently no global preventive or cure
available for this virus. Only two vaccinations that were previously
authorized for smallpox are licensed for this virus. Similarly, there is
only one drug available for therapy. The article will give comprehensive
knowledge regarding available virus epidemiology, morphology, immune
invasion prevention, and treatment which help the researcher to come
forward and develop a strategy for the disease prevalence.
