Measurement of Pain and Related Symptoms in Irritable Bowel Syndrome
Abstract
This paper reviews the tools available to assess outcomes of treatment
in irritable bowel syndrome, especially the effect on pain. It
critically considers their development, relevance and reliability. Its
conclusion is that there are few tools which meet the criteria necessary
to place confidence in their validity as appropriate measures of patient
