Native mitral valve infective endocarditis caused by Staphylococcus
warneri: A case-based review
Abstract
Studies reporting S. warneri in infective endocarditis (IE) are rare. We
presented a 72-year-old woman with native mitral valve S. warneri IE
associated with spondylitis and cerebellar infarction. Physicians should
be wary of IE and disseminated lesions when blood cultures reveal S.
warneri, especially in elderlies with valvular heart disease.
