This article presents an improved antenna array pattern synthesis method, which can be effectively applied to synthesize of the radiation pattern of arbitrary linear and planar arrays with equal space between the array elements. In mathematics theory, method of the least squares is a routine way to discover the best fit curve to the specified data. Least square method (LSM) with Richardson technique will be a more direct technique to synthesize the radiation pattern of any linear and planar, equally spaced antenna arrays. The goal of them is to find the amplitude of each element of the under-studying array. Simulation results demonstrate that pattern synthesis of linear antenna arrays using the proposed method, provides considerable enhancements compared to the other ones.
