Director of Allergy, Immunology & Angioedema Center, at the Barzilai University Hospital, Ashkelon, affiliated to Ben-Gurion University in Beer Sheva, Israel. He graduated Tel-Aviv University School of Medicine in 1978 and trained in Internal Medicine at Rambam Medical Centre, Haifa, Israel. Following completion of his residency he went abroad and made a Post-doctoral Fellowship in Allergy & Clinical Immunology at the Johns Hopkins Medical Centre, Baltimore USA, under the mentorship of Prof's L.M. Lichtenstein and P. Norman. Upon returning to Israel he established an allergy service in R. Sieff Hospital in Safed, where he also studied allergic lung diseases. Later he was nominated head of Allergy and Clinical Immunology at Sheba Medical Centre. In 2013-2015 he spent sabbatical visits with Prof. M. Cicardi in Milano, Italy, investigating the basic mechanisms of Systemic Capillary-leak Syndrome. His most professional and academic career was dedicated to clinical research, specifically new treatments for Hereditary Angioedema (HAE). He and his research group established an HAE expert centre at Sheba MC and participated in numerous clinical studies, leading to the development of advanced therapeutic treatments. He has contributed to professional conferences and advisory boards and assisted in developing practice parameters for the diagnosis and treatment of angioedema. He published numerous research articles, reviews, national and international clinic guidelines.
