Comparison of clinical, pathological characters and prognostic outcomes
in patients with non-metastatic early-onset and late-onset colorectal
cancer
Abstract
Colorectal cancer (CRC) ranks among the top three most prevalent and
lethal cancers for men and women. The overall annual CRC incidence rate
has decreased Since 1985. However, despite continued overall declines,
CRC is rapidly shifting to diagnosis at a younger age. Studies suggest
that there were significant differences of early-onset CRC in
epidemiology, etiology, molecular features, it is a heterogeneous
disease. So further characterization of early-onset CRC is required to
reveal the difference in clinical and pathological characteristics as
well as prognosis between the 2 groups. It may help improve the
treatment strategy in the future.
