Mahdi Saleh

Research Associate

Mahdi Saleh, Ph.D., graduated with a doctorate in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon, in 2021. His doctoral research led to the development of a novel measurement system employing capacitive sensor arrays, which accurately measures the thickness of oil films on water surfaces in open water environments and resulted in a US patent. Following his doctoral studies, from January 2021 to April 2022, Dr. Saleh worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Lincoln, U.K., where he contributed to advancing the development of long-range IoT-enabled Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) tailored for agricultural monitoring applications. Since May 2022, Dr. Saleh has been contributing his expertise as a Research Associate within the Non-Invasive Bioelectronic Systems group at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Manchester, U.K. His current research interests are in instrumentation and measurement, with a particular emphasis on developing embedded measurement systems customized for biosensors, portable healthcare monitoring devices, and distributed environmental monitoring systems. In recognition of his work, he received the prestigious "Best Outstanding Contribution to Research Impact" award from the Faculty of Science and Engineering at The University of Manchester in 2023.
