Emilio J. Palacios-García is a Senior Post-doctoral Researcher at the Environmental Research Institute of University College Cork (UCC) and the SFI Centre for Energy, Climate, and Marine Research (MaREI), Ireland. Before joining UCC, he was a Postdoctoral Research Associate and Marie Skłodowska-Curie SoE fellow at KU Leuven, Belgium (2020-2024), and a Postdoctoral Researcher at Aalborg University, Denmark (2018-2020).
He holds a PhD degree in Advanced Computation and Energy (2018), a MSc degree in Distributed Renewable Energies (2013), and a BSc degree in Industrial Electronic Engineering (2012) from the University of Córdoba, Spain.
His research areas include advanced metering infrastructures for user-centric demand response, privacy-friendly data processing, IoT architectures and protocols for energy services, and stochastic modelling of residential energy flexibility.
He has co-authored 51 publications in peer-reviewed international journals, conferences, and books. He is also a Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE).
