Congenital dyserythropoietic anemias (CDA) is a heterogeneous class of anemia of varying degrees of ineffective erythropoiesis and secondary hemochromatosis. We reported a case of CDA and showed our approach to reaching a diagnosis, highlighting the importance of the typical morphological appearance of bone marrow erythroblasts to reach the diagnosis.

Metastatic laryngeal cancers are rare and usually indicate advanced disease once they are present; we described a case of a 60 years old male patient with stage IV colorectal cancer (CRC) who presented to our clinic with dysphonia; further workups showed metastatic CRC.

Acute kidney injury (AKI) affects 10%–50% of rhabdomyolysis patients with a complex etiology. Herewith is a case of a young bodybuilder who reported symptoms after consuming Ibuprofen for a casual fever. Eventually, he was diagnosed with rhabdomyolysis induced by AKI.

This case reports an 89-year-old male who presented with sepsis, disseminated intravascular coagulopathy, acute kidney injury, and upper GI bleeding to the emergency department. He was admitted to the ICU, where he was managed for septic shock, diabetic ketoacidosis, and coagulopathy then sent home on medications with an improved status.

Mild hypophosphatemia can be reported in some cases of acute pancreatitis, especially in alcohol-induced pancreatitis (AIP), but severe hypophosphatemia (0.33 mmol/L) is rarely reported, even in cases with AIP. Pena-Shokeir Syndrome is considered to be a fatal congenital condition that is rarely diagnosed in neonates. We present the first ever reported case of Pena-Shokeir Syndrome from Syria. Both clinical assessment and early prenatal diagnosis are necessary to give more realistic options for the mother and the baby.

We describe a case in which a 41-year-old pregnant female with pycnodysostosis presented for elective cesarean section at week 37 + 5 of pregnancy. To the author’s best knowledge, this is the first reported case of pycnodysostosis during pregnancy in Oman.
