She recently obtained her PhD in Agricultural Science from Nagoya University, Japan. Her dissertation was on the characterization and genetic diversity analysis of Philippine native pigs. She, and her colleagues, is promoting the use of native animals to achieve food security and sovereignty in the Philippines.
