Children with home invasive mechanical ventilation need special health care and rehabilitation services due to complications caused by both the pulmonary system and limitation of movement. The need for rehabilitation in this patient group is increasing day by day. In this treatment method, whose importance and application area is increasing, life expectancy is prolonged, respiratory morbidity decreases and quality of life increases with effective rehabilitation. The main purpose of rehabilitation is to reduce morbidity, increase the independence of the child in activities, and improve the quality of daily life and life as much as possible. Physical therapy and exercise practices applied in this patient group can be divided into two; those for the whole body and those for the pulmonary system. Parent and/or caregiver education is important to ensure effective invasive mechanical ventilation. In this review, although full standard approaches have not been determined yet, rehabilitation approaches for children dependent on home-type invasive mechanical ventilator will be discussed.
