This paper focuses on enhancing the compression ratio of any existing dictionary-based Lempel-Ziv compression methods (LZW compression and its variants like LZMW, LZWL etc.) by introducing a couple of novel features rather than introducing a new data compression technique. The proposed enhancements are intended to provide better compression ratio on the existing techniques, thus enabling more efficient data storage. By providing a comprehensive description of the constraints inherent in the current dictionary-based compression methods, this paper analytically elaborates the intricacies of the proposed features, along with a logical explication of how their implementation will lead to an enhanced compression ratio.
