The demand for more accurate and visually pleasing images is increasing with the number of digital photos taken daily. However, the images captured by modern cameras are degraded by noise, which leads to deteriorated visual image quality. The de-noising approaches existing in the literature cannot reduce noise without losing image features (edges, corners, and other sharp structures). The developed de-noising method can detect and de-noise the noisy pixels without losing image features at higher and lower noise levels. The present approach can filter the noise at or above 90% noise density and preserve image details to enhance the image processing task.
